We do this to help young people Holmes Chapel Scout Group is all about providing young people with an opportunity to participate in varied and interesting activities. To allow this to happen we need:
- Willing and enthusiastic leaders and helpers
- The support of parents/guardians
- Continuous fund raising activities
Fund raising We need to maintain sufficient funding to ensure the Scout Group serving the young people of Holmes Chapel continues to exist. We continually look for new and effective ways to raise funds and always welcome help from the local community, individuals or businesses.
Could you help? It isn’t difficult to help and it really doesn’t have to take up much of your time. Just an hour can make a big difference to us and will make the Scout Group a more rewarding and enjoyable experience for the young people involved.
Helping could for example include:
- TIME: By giving up just an hour of your time you could help to identify or participate in fund raising activities or with a specific event.
- COMPANY SPONSORSHIP: Please ask your company if they could make a financial contribution or perhaps provide their expertise or supply materials or equipment for a specific project. Currently we need to refurbish the Scout hut to improve the environment in which the group meet. We also need some new equipment to allow the young people to participate in the interesting and varied range of activities that Scouting can provide.
- FINANCIAL SUPPORT: You could provide an individual contribution towards running costs, a specific activity or equipment. A contribution could help with the cost of the rental of our premises, utilities bills, running our web site (Note: we only pay for web site hosting) or perhaps a specific activity such as summer camp, canoeing or a visit to a place of interest such as Jodrell Bank. It could also include buying equipment.
Contributions, regardless of there size are always very welcome and appreciated. We have had help from individuals, the community and local businesses and from April 2007 have created this page to recognise and thank those that have helped. Please note that we do respect the wishes of any contributors that would prefer to remain anonymous.
Thank you Finally, thank you to everyone that has helped to make it possible to run the Scout Group. Without your help we could not provide the youth of Holmes Chapel and surrounding areas with the opportunity to participate and enjoy everything that modern scouting can provide.
